If you’re a hot dog, there are a number of things that you can do during the stifling summer months to keep cool. Panting is good, hounding your owners for a cool wash down is even better and as you would expect, finding a favourite shady spot with your name on it is essential. Despite the heat though, life goes on and it’s crucial to stay focused and not to forget your usual routine…
Billy still has the huge responsibility of guarding his bone, it’s an enormous burden that he has to carry through life and despite the recent heat, he manages it well. He’s a little grumpier that usual perhaps and woe betide any pup who gets in his way. It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.
For Lady Briar, it’s vital to stay in tip top condition should any suitors come a-visiting. Staying gorgeous isn’t easy you know, it takes dedication and commitment. Unsurprisingly, ensuring your feet are clean and goose grass free can take an awful lot out of you on a hot day.
Of course if you’re a puppy, looking cute is the name of the game. It’s not easy to stay cool whilst working on a flop of the ear here and a roll on the back there. It’s consistently worth the effort though, especially when the end result is a cuddle from your dad.
So next time you think that the pooches have an easy life, think again, it’s awfully tough at the top.

Wow Bulgaria, how is it? Looks like you keep busy, I love my dogs also. Love the picture Daddy’s Girl.
Yes, it’s a great photo of them both, I think Bess is too big to get on hubby’s knees now so we’ll treasure that photo. Bulgaria is beautiful, the people are really friendly and it’s a complete new adventure for us. We live in an agricultural area and it’s so pretty especially in the summer months. The garden certainly keeps us busy but I wouldn’t want it any other way and I have the winter months to recover before I start all over again!
